  • Public Safety Telecommunicator are essential to interagency emergency operations for large scale events such as active assailants, civil unrest, wild fires, natural disasters, and more.

  • Public Safety Telecommunicators play a critical role in emergency response, acting as the first point of contact for citizens needing emergency services. 
  • Public Safety Telecommunicator are essential to interagency emergency operations for large scale events such as active assailants, civil unrest, wild fires, natural disasters, and more.
  • Public Safety Telecommunicators are exposed to workplace stress and trauma that may lead to the development of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
  • Classifying Public Safety Telecommunicators as Protective Service Occupations would recognize them for the lifesaving work they perform, correct an inaccurate representation in the Standard Occupational Classification, and better align the Standard Occupational Classification with related classification systems
